One of the questions regular trainers ask most is: "Should I have a massage before or after training?" Sports massage is a targeted massage that focuses on hard-working muscle groups, and timed well it is a great complement to your training routine.
Before or after training?
- Before: a shorter, livelier treatment to prepare the muscles for work.
- After: a calmer, deeper treatment, ideally the day after a hard session, to support recovery.
Right after a very heavy workout, waiting a few hours rather than having deep pressure straight away is usually more comfortable.
How often?
If you train 3–5 days a week, a sports massage every two to four weeks is a good start. During competitions or intense preparation the frequency can be increased.
